16. I came to tell the Veda

Verse 16

மாலாங்க னேஇங் கியான்வந்த காரணம்
நீலாங்க மேனியள் நேரிழை யாளொடு
மூலாங்க மாக மொழிந்த திருக்கூத்தின்
சீலாங்க வேதத்தைச் செப்பவந் தேனே.  

Translation:

Maalaanga!  The reason for me coming here,

The one who, along with the lady whose body is of bluish hue

The sacred dance that uttered, with mula as a part

I came to mention that good Veda.

( I came to tell the siva agama that Siva told Sakthi)

Commentary:Tirumular is telling Maalangan that he has come here to sing the good Veda that Siva told Sakthi.  Siva is referred to as the sacred dance, as the one with .  Mulam as a part means the knowledge that emerges when consciousness ascends from muladhara, an essential cakra in kundalini yoga or Moolan, himself, who heard the agama in the group that heard it from Siva.

Agamas that are set as Siva teaching Sakthi are called Siva agama, while those where Sakthi explains concepts to others are called Saktha agama. Names such as Tirumular, Idaikkaadar, Agattheesar are associated with Kundalini yoga.

மாலாங்கனிடம் கூறுவதாக அமைந்த இப்பாடலில் திருமூலர், தான், சிவன் சக்திக்குக் உபதேசித்த வேதத்தைக் கூறுவதற்காக வந்தேன் என்கிறார்.  நீல மேனி மாதொருபாகன், திருக்கூத்து என்று அவர் சிவனைக் குறிக்கிறார்.  சிவன் சக்திக்குக் கூறிய வேதம் சிவ ஆகமம் எனப்படுகிறது.  சக்தி பிறருக்கு கூறுவது சாக்த ஆகமம் எனப்படுகிறது.  இதனால் திருமந்திரம் சிவ ஆகமம் என்பது புரிகிறது. 

வேதம் என்பது அறியப்படவேண்டிய அறிவு.

மூலாங்கனோடு என்றது மூலத்தை அங்கமாகக் கொண்டு எழுப்பப்படும் விழிப்புணர்வினால் பெறும் அறிவு என்றும்,  மூலனான திருமூலரையும் கேட்டவர்கள் குழுவில் ஒருவராகக் கொண்டு கூறிய வேதத்தை என்றும் பொருள்படும்.

திருமூலர், இடைக்காடர், அகத்தீசர் என்பது போன்ற பெயர்கள் குண்டலினி யோகத்துடன் தொடர்புள்ள பெயர்கள்.
