1.2.2 He is the means and the goal

Verse 2

அவனை ஒழிய அமரரும் இல்லை
அவனன்றிச் செய்யும் அருந்தவம் இல்லை
அவனன்றி மூவரால் ஆவதொன் றில்லை
அவனன்றி ஊர்புகு மாறறி யேனே. 

Translation:

There are no celestials other than him

There are no austerities other than him

There is nothing that the triad could do without him

I do not know the way to enter the town, other than him.

Commentary:  Thirumular says that everything is Sivan.  The celestials, the austerities, the holy triad of Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra who perform their functions of creation, sustenance and dissolution following his bidding and the way to reach liberation are all him.  He is the means and the goal.

அனைத்தும் சிவனே என்று இப்பாடலில் திருமூலர் கூறுகிறார்.  அமரர்கள், தவம், மும்மூர்த்திகளான பிரம்மா, விஷ்ணு, ருத்திரன், மற்றும் மோட்சத்துக்கான வழியும் சிவனே என்கிறார் அவர்.  சிவனே அடையப்படும் பொருளாகவும் அதை அடையும் வழியாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.
