1.2.22 Praise the Lord

Verse 22
தொடர்ந்துநின் றானைத் தொழுமின் தொழுதால்
படர்ந்துநின் றான்பரி பாரக முற்றும்
கடந்துநின் றான்கம லம்மலர் மேலே
புணர்ந்திருந் தானடிப் புண்ணிய மாமே.

Translation:
Pray to the one who remains persistently, If prayed
The one who stood pervading the entire world
The one who stood beyond them, the one who remains
Over the lotus merging together, his feet (praising them) is good action.

Commentary: So far Thirumular has been talking about Siva’s transcendent and all pervasive nature. Here he says that he not only pervades the world and remains beyond it, he is als present in the lotuses, the cakra within our body. There he remains associated with sakthi and the soul. Siva, the supreme consciousness, is in close contact with the soul whose consciousness, the kundalini sakthi, ascends through the cakra. Hence, praising his feet is an action that would bring good effects.

உலகம் அனைத்துமாகவும் அவற்றைக் கடந்தும் நிற்கும் சிவன் நம்முள்ளும் தாமரை எனப்படும் சக்கரங்களில் இருக்கிறான். அங்கே அவன் ஜீவனுடனும் சக்தியுடனும் சேர்ந்திருக்கிறான். சிவன் என்னும் பரவுணர்வு ஜீவன் என்ற அளவுக்குட்பட்ட உணர்வுடனும் குண்டலினி சக்தியுடனும் சக்கரங்களில் கூடியிருக்கிறது. அதனால் அவனது பாதங்களைப் போற்றுவது நற்பயனைத் தரும் என்கிறார் திருமூலர்.
