1.2.33 I praise the Nandi who animates the body

Verse 33

நானும்நின் றேத்துவன் நாடொறும் நந்தியைத்
தானும்நின் றான்தழல் தானொக்கு மேனியன்
வானில் நின் றார்மதி போல்உடல் உள்ளுவந்
தூனில்நின் றாங்கே உயிர்க்கின்ற வாறே.

Translation:
Daily, I will remain praising Nandhi,
He remained, the one with a body like the fire
Like the moon that remains in the sky, coming within the body
Remain in the body and animate it.

Commentary:
Tirumular says that he is praising Nandhi whose body is like the fire. Nandhi represents pure consciousness. The fire also represents the fire of kundalini. The third line is interesting. “vaanil ninraar madhi pol” means like the moon that remains in the sky. It also means wisdom of those who remain in the supreme space, realized souls. The Lord remains within the body and animates it.

திருமூலர் தான் தீயைப் போன்ற நிறமுள்ள நந்தியைப் போற்றுகிறேன் என்கிறார். தீ என்பது தூய அறிவுணர்வு. குண்டலினி அக்னி. மூன்றாவது வரியில் அவர் வானில் நின்றார் மதிபோல் என்கிறார். இது வானில் உள்ள நிலவு என்றும் வான்வெளியில் உள்ள அமரர்களின் ஞானம் என்றும் பொருள்படும். நந்தி உடலினுள் வந்து அதை உயிர்ப்பிப்பதைக் கடைசி வரி கூறுகிறது.
