1.2.32 Praise Isa in any way

Verse 32

அப்பனை நந்தியை ஆரா அமுதினை
ஒப்பிலி வள்ளலை ஊழி முதல்வனை
எப்பரி சாயினும் ஏத்துமின் ஏத்தினால்
அப்பரி சீசன் அருள்பெற லாமே. 

Translation:

Father, Nandhi, the unsatiating nectar

The incomparable philanthropist, the first one in the eons

Praise him in any which way.  If you praise him

You can get the gift, the grace of Isa.

Commentary:

After mentioning that the path of the Lord is the right one and to travel in that path one must recite Lord’s thousand names and that he is following this method Tirumular provides solace to those who regret that they do not know Lord’s thousand names.  He says praise the Lord in any fashion.  It is not a particular method that counts.  It is the attitude which matters.  If one does so, one will receive the grace of the Supreme Being.

இறைவன் காட்டிய வழிய மெய்ந்நெறி என்றும் அதனால் அவனை ஆயிரம் நாமம் சொல்லிப் போற்றுங்கள் என்றும் தானும் அதைத்தான் செய்கிறேன் என்றும் கூறிய திருமூலர் இப்பாடலில் “ஐயோ! எனக்கு இறைவனது ஆயிரம் நாமங்கள் தெரியாதே!  நான் என்ன செய்வது?” என்று வருந்தும் மக்களின் துயரைப் போக்குகிறார்.  ஒப்பிலா ஈசனை அவ்வாரேனும் போற்றுங்கள்.  உங்களது மனப்பாங்குதான் முக்கியம், எவ்வாறு அவனை வழிபடுகிறீர்கள் என்ற முறை முக்கியமல்ல.  அவ்வாறு சரியான எண்ணத்தோடு அவனை வணங்கினால் அவனது அருள் என்ற பரிசைப் பெறலாம் என்கிறார் திருமூலர்.
