1.2.30 The true path is...

Verse 30

சாந்து கமழுங் கவரியின் கந்தம்போல்
வேந்தன் அமரர்க் கருளிய மெய்ந்நெறி
ஆர்ந்த சுடரன்ன ஆயிர நாமமும்
போந்தும் இருந்தும் புகழுகின் றேனே. 

Translation:

Like the fragrance of the musk deer

The path offered by the King, for the liberated souls, is the true path

The thousand names that glow like the flame

I am praising while walking and remaining.

Commentary: After saying in the previous verse that people do not know the right path that would lead them to Siva Tirumular affirms that the path shown by the Lord, the King to the liberated souls is the true path.  He adds that, hence, he is reciting the thousand names of the Lord at all times- while walking and remaining, that is while being active as well as while being inactive.

முந்தைய பாடலில் மக்கள் இறைவனை அடைய சரியான வழி எது என்று தெரியாமல் மனம் வாடுகின்றனர் என்று கூறிய திருமூலர் இப்பாடலில் அரசனான இறைவன் அமரர்கள் எனப்படும் முக்தி பெற்றவர்களுக்கு அருளிய பாதையே மெய்ந்நெறி என்கிறார்.  அதனால்தான் தான் இருக்கும்போதும் நகரும்போதும் அவனது ஆயிரம் நாமங்களைப் பாடியபடி உள்ளேன், அதாவது செயல்புரியும்போதும் செயலற்று இருக்கும்போதும் அவனது நாமத்தைக் கூறியபடி உள்ளேன் என்கிறார் அவர்.
