1.2.46 How a sincere seeker will seek God

Verse 46

Translation:

He will hold it in the heart as the Lord

He will sing, offering several flowers and standing reverentially

He will dance, praising, “the lord of the liberated souls!”

He will seek, that which I know today/that which I know by remaining so.

Commentary:

Trimular describes how a person would seek divine experience. He will praise the Lord as the lord of everyone and everything. He will offer flowers and dance in bliss singing the Lord’s praise, hold the experience and the thought about it at all time. Tirumular adds that the entity that such a person is seeking is that which he has attained today.  The term ‘naaninru arinthathu’ can be interpreted as ‘naan inru arinthathu’ and also as ‘naan ninru arinthu’.  Thus, it also means ‘that which I knew by remaining like the person described above’.

இறையனுபவத்தைப் பெற்ற விழையும் ஒருவர் எவ்வாறு நடந்துகொள்வார் என்று திருமூலர் இப்பாடலில் கூறுகிறார்.  அந்த மனிதர் இறைவனை அனைவருக்கும் பிரானே என்று போற்றி மலர் தூவி வழிபடுவார், இறைவனின் புகழைப் பாடி ஆடுவார், மனத்துள் எப்போதும் வைத்து நாடுவார் என்று கூறும் திருமூலர் அந்த மனிதர் பெற விரும்புவது தான் “நின்றறிவது” என்கிறார்.     இந்தச் சொல்லை “நான் இன்று அறிவது” என்று பிரித்தால் திருமூலர் தான் இப்போது அறியும் இறைவனே என்று கூறுவதாகவும் “நான் நின்று அறிவது” என்று பிரித்தால் தான் அவ்வாறு நின்று அறியும் இறைவன் என்று கூறுவதாகவும் பொருள் கொள்ளலாம்.
