1.4.4 He is Agama

பாடல் எண் : 4

பரனாய்ப் பராபரங் காட்டி உலகில்
தரனாய்ச் சிவதன்மந் தானேசொல் காலத்
தரனாய் அமரர்கள் அற்சிக்கும் நந்தி
உரனாகி ஆகமம் ஓங்கிநின் றானே. 

Translation:

Showing Paraparam from the state of Param

During the times when he revealed the nature of sivam from the state of lord of the world

Nandi who is worshipped by liberated souls as Hara

As the support, He remained boosted as Agama.

Commentary:

Tirumular is setting the stage for the various states of consciousness in this verse.  Paraparam is the state of the Divine that is experienced as a flame.  Paran is the state when all the limitations including the pure manifestations of Siva, sakti, sadhakhya, maheswara and suddha vidhya are transcended.  A yogin gets glimpse of the formless-form of the Divine, as flame, only when he reaches the state of Paran.  Tirumular explains this as para avatthai in later sections.  In the state of Paran, the distinction of the Divine and the world exists.  Hence, he reveals to the world the nature of Siva as there is a teacher and a taught.  This state of Paran is reached by Nandhi, the soul, the consciousness who is praised by liberated souls as Hara or the destroyer of delusions, limitations.  Such a Lord remained as the knowledge imparted by the Agama.  Thus, Agama teach us about the Parapara state and Siva granted us this knowledge from his Paran state.

இப்பாடலில் திருமூலர் உணர்வு நிலைகளை ஒரு துளியளவு காட்டுகிறார்.  பராபர நிலை என்பது இறைவனின் அருவ உருவ நிலை, தீபமாக இருக்கும் நிலை.  இந்த நிலையை உணர ஒரு யோகி பர நிலையை அடைய வேண்டும்.  இந்த பரன் நிலை சுத்த மாயையையும் கடந்தது.  இதைப் பற்றி விளக்கமாக திருமூலர் பின் தந்திரங்களில் கூறுகிறார்.  இந்த பர நிலையில் கேட்பவர் கூறுபவர் என்ற இருமை நிலை இருக்கிறது.  அதனால் சிவன் சக்திக்கு இந்த நிலையிலிருந்து ஆகமங்களைக் கூறினார்.  இந்த நிலையை அடைவது நந்தி என்னும் உயருணர்வு.  இந்த உணர்வை முக்தி பெற்ற ஆத்மாக்கள் ஹரன் என்று போற்றுகின்றனர் ஏனெனில் இந்த நிலையில் எல்லா மலங்களும் அறுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.  இவ்வாறு பரநிலையிலும் நந்தி நிலையிலும் உள்ள இறைஉணர்வே நமக்கு ஆகமங்களைத் தந்தது.  ஆகமங்கள் பராபர நிலையை விளக்கவே  வெளியிடப்பட்டன என்று இப்பாடல் நமக்குக் கூறுகிறது.
