30. பொன்னார் மேனியனே- The one with the golden body

Verse 30

இருக்கில் இருக்கும் எண்ணிலி கோடி
அருக்கிய மூலத்துள் அங்கே இருக்கும்
அருக்கனும் சோமனும் ஆரழல் வீச
உருக்கி யுரோமம் ஒளிவிடுந் தானே.

Translation:

If it has to stay it will remain for countless eons,

It will remains within the mulam

The sun and the moon spreading the fire

Melting, the hair will glow.

Commentary:  Tirumular is describing the signs of a supreme yogi.  The moon and the sun have different means in the Siddha parlance.  They are the breath flowing through the ida and pingala nadi.  They are the surya and Chandra mandala.  They are the prana and apana.  

When the breath flows through the ida and pingala nadi in a measured manner, during pranayama, it kindles the fire of the kundalini and turns it into a huge flame.  When this happens the body melts in the fire and every hair follicle will glow with a golden hue.

உச்ச நிலையில் இருக்கும் ஒரு யோகியின் நிலையை இப்பாடலில் திருமூலர் விளக்குகிறார். சித்தர்கள் பரிபாஷையில் சூரியன் சந்திரன் என்பதற்குப் பல பொருட்கள் உள்ளன.  இடை பிங்களை நாடிகளில் ஓடும் பிராணன் அபானன் என்ற இரு வாயுக்களும் சூரியன் சந்திரன் எனப்படுகின்றன.  அவை சூரிய சந்திர மண்டலங்களையும் குறிக்கும்.  இவாறு நாடிகளில் ஓடும் பிராணன் உச்ச நிலையை அடைந்து குண்டலினி அக்னியை எழுப்பும்.  இதனால் ரோமக்கால்கள் அனைத்தும் ஒளிவிட்டு உடலே ஒளியுடலாக விளங்கும்.  இந்த நிலையையே திருமூலர் இப்பாடலில் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.
