10. Triple fires

Verse 10

மொழிந்தது மூவர்க்கும் நால்வர்க்கும் ஈசன்
ஒழிந்த பெருமை இறப்பும் பிறப்பும்
செழுஞ்சுடர் மூன்றொளி யாகிய தேவன்
கழிந்த பெருமையைக் காட்டகி லானே.

Translation:

The Isa told the triad and foursome

The glory. Birth and death destroyed

The flame, the Deva who became the three lights

He does not reveal the famous way in which it was removed.

Verse 10

மொழிந்தது மூவர்க்கும் நால்வர்க்கும் ஈசன்
ஒழிந்த பெருமை இறப்பும் பிறப்பும்
செழுஞ்சுடர் மூன்றொளி யாகிய தேவன்
கழிந்த பெருமையைக் காட்டகி லானே.

Translation:

The Isa told the triad and foursome

The glory. Birth and death destroyed

The flame, the Deva who became the three lights

He does not reveal the famous way in which it was removed.

Commentary: The triad may be the three in the list, Sivayogi and  Patanjali and Vyagramar as Tirumular has already mentioned that he received the knowledge. The foursome may be the Nathas.  The three lights may be the sun, the moon and the fire or the flame of atma- atma jyoti, the flame of siva-siva jyoti and the supreme effulgence- paramjyoti.  Tirumular classifies souls as four types of vijnanakala, three types of pralayakala and three types of sakala.  Among these the Vijnanakala and pralayakala are close to attaining realization than the sakala.  As Tirumular has said three and four as two categories he may be meaning these two types of souls or the above mentioned seven may belong to these two categories.

இப்பாடலில் திருமூலர் மூவரும் நால்வரும் உபதேசம் பெற்றனர் என்கிறார்.  இந்த மூவர் என்பது சிவயோகி, பதஞ்சலி, வியாக்கிரமர் என்பவராக இருக்கலாம்.  திருமூலர் முன்னமே தான் உபதேசம் பெற்றேன் என்று கூறிவிட்டார்.  நால்வர் என்பது நான்கு நாதாக்களாக இருக்கலாம்.  மூவகை சோதிகள் என்பது ஆத்மசோதி, சிவஜோதி மற்றும் பரஞ்சோதியாக இருக்கலாம் அல்லது சூரியன் சந்திரன் அக்னி என்ற முத்தீக்களாக இருக்கலாம்.

திருமூலர் ஆத்மாக்களை நால்வகை விஞ்ஞானகலர் மூவகை பிரளயகலர் மூவகை சகலர் என்று பாகுபடுத்துகிறார்.  மேற்கூறிய பாடலில் அவர் மூவர் நாலவர் என்று கூறியது முன்பாடலில் கூறிய எழுவரில் இவ்வகை பாகுபாடு உள்ளதோ என்று எண்ணச் செய்கிறது
