1.2.42 Worship with trikarana..

Verse 42

அந்திவண் ணாஅர னேசிவ னேஎன்று
சிந்தைசெய் வண்ணந் திருந்தடி யார்தொழ
முந்திவண் ணாமுதல் வாபர னேஎன்று
வந்திவ்வண் ணம்எம் மனம்புகுந் தானே. 

Translation:

“The twilight hued one! Hara!  Siva!”

Thinking so, the way the perfect devotees worship

“The one of all types, the Origin, Para” (I worshipped so)

He entered my heart in this fashion.

Commentary:

Tirumular explains how the Lord entered his heart.  He says that similar to the fashion in which true devotees eulogize him, as the one with the hue of twilight, as Hara the one who cuts away samsara, as Siva the auspicious one, he praised the Lord as the origin the one who includes everything and Para.  Hearing these words of worship the Lord entered his heart.  In the first two lines Tirumular explains that true devotees worship the Lord through mind (manas or chinthai), vak (words or praise) and kaayam (body, the action of worshipping).  By saying that he followed their method Tirumular indicates that he did not device a new method of worship but followed the prescribed worship with the three “karana” or instruments. This verse also shows that it is the sincere worship that brings the Lord to the soul, not any elaborate and showy worship ritual.

இப்பாடலில் திருமூலர் எவ்வாறு இறைவன் தனது இதயத்துள் புகுந்தான் என்று கூறுகிறார்.  திருந்திய பக்தர்கள் இறைவனை, “அந்தி நிறத்தில் இருப்பவனே, சம்சாரத்தை அறுக்கும் அரனே, மங்களகரமான சிவனே” என்று சிந்தையில் எண்ணி வாக்கில் கூறி உடலால் தொழுவர் என்றும் தானும் அவ்வாறே இறைவனை, “எல்லாமாக இருப்பவனே, முதல்வனே பரனே” என்று முக்கரணங்களாலும் வழிபட்டேன் என்றும் அதனால் இறைவன் தனது மனத்தினுள் புகுந்தான் என்றும் திருமூலர் கூறுகிறார். 

இப்பாடலின் மூலம் திருமூலர் தான் புதிய வழிபாட்டு முறை எதையும் தோற்றுவிக்கவில்லை, காலம் காலமாக திருத் தொண்டர்கள் கடைப்பிடித்த முறையையே தொடர்ந்தேன் என்று கூறுகிறார்.  மேலும், மிகப் படாடோபமான சடங்குகள் இறைவனை மனதுள் கொண்டுவரா, உண்மையான வேண்டுதலே இறைஞ்சுதலே இறைவனை ஆத்மாவிடம் கொண்டுவரும் என்றும் இப்பாடல் நமக்குக் காட்டுகிறது.
